About Me
I’m a poet, community organizer, and systems change practitioner living in Manchester with my family of six. My work sits at the intersection of creative practice and social transformation.
My Work
I’m passionate about using poetry as a tool for community building and systems change. Through my practice of “poetic harvesting,” I capture the essence of gatherings - workshops, conferences, community meetings - in real-time poetry that reflects both the factual content and the collective emotional energy of the group.
Beyond individual events, I work on regenerative economics and decentralized systems through SuperBenefit and other initiatives, always asking: how can we build systems that center community wellbeing over extraction?
Values & Approach
My work is guided by several core principles:
- Regenerative over extractive in all systems and relationships
- Community-centered decision making and power distribution
- Creative practice as a tool for social transformation
- Intersection of art, activism, and alternative economics
- Right relationship with land, others, and ourselves
I believe in the power of poetry to make complex ideas accessible, to build empathy across difference, and to help communities see themselves more clearly.
Creative Philosophy
Poetry, for me, is both personal expression and collective practice. When I do poetic harvesting at events, I’m not just taking notes - I’m listening for the heartbeat of the room, the themes that emerge when people gather with intention, the hopes and fears that surface when we’re honest about the work we’re trying to do together.
This practice has taught me that every community gathering has its own rhythm, its own emotional landscape, its own story waiting to be told back to itself.
Personal
I’m a parent to four children in a blended family - two daughters and two stepchildren (a teenage boy and girl). We’re a homeschooling family that values curiosity-led learning and emotional safety.
I’m passionate about:
- Drum and bass music - where my body and soul feel most alive
- Manchester United - supporter through thick and thin
- Vegan living - committed to ethical food systems
- Solarpunk futures - dreaming and building the world we want
Current Projects
Right now I’m focused on building sustainable systems for creative work, developing the poetic harvesting practice, and creating more opportunities for community-centered creative expression.
I’m also in a phase of integration - consolidating what I’ve built over the years and grounding it more deeply, while making space for more slowness, more softness, more joy.
