What I’m Doing Now

This is what I’m focused on at this point in my life. If we haven’t been in touch for a while, this is where I’d start to catch you up.

Current Projects

Building this website: Creating a home for my creative practice and professional work that feels both personal and professional. Exploring how to make poetry more accessible and shareable online.

SuperBenefit work: Continuing to develop regenerative economic models and decentralized governance systems. Working on community-centered approaches to wealth building and resource sharing.

ICS initiatives: Supporting community resilience projects and alternative economic experiments in Manchester and beyond.

Poetic harvesting practice: Taking this work more seriously as a professional offering. I’ve been doing this for 5+ years but mostly through word of mouth. Ready to put myself out there more intentionally.

Creative Practice

Poetry writing: Exploring themes of regenerative economics, community building, and what it means to parent in times of uncertainty. Working on pieces that bridge the personal and political.

Performance work: Getting back into spoken word performance after focusing more on the harvesting practice. Missing the energy of live audiences.

Creative community: Looking for more connection with other poets and artists who are doing work at the intersection of creativity and social change.

Learning & Reading

Technical skills: Learning about web development, automation, and how to better share creative work online. This website is part of that experiment.

Currently reading: Books about alternative economics, community organizing, and poetry that helps me think differently about systems change.

Exploring: How AI tools can support rather than replace creative practice. How blockchain and web3 might enable new models for supporting artists and communities.

Family Life

Homeschooling: Four kids with very different learning styles and interests. Always experimenting with new approaches that honor their curiosity while building actual skills.

Blended family dynamics: Navigating the beautiful complexity of two households becoming one, teenage emotions, and creating traditions that work for everyone.

Community: Building stronger connections with other families in Manchester who share similar values around education, sustainability, and creative living.

Personal

Health and wellbeing: Learning to set better boundaries around how much I take on. Practicing saying no to things that don’t align with my values or energy.

Music: Still deeply in love with drum and bass. It’s where I go when I need to remember what aliveness feels like.

Rest: Actively working on making more space for slowness and presence. This is hard for me but essential.
